Dear Leader,

Over the past 18 months, Interchange Shoalhaven has been through significant change. The roll out of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) has meant that we have needed to transform the business. What we have achieved to date has been enormous, but what we have in front of us, will be just as challenging.

The changing world of the NDIS has meant a shift in mindset and thus a significant shift in culture. Where we could once be purely human centred, we must now be commercially ahead of the game, whilst not losing our focus on our purpose and vision.

Where there is a change however, there comes opportunities and challenges, and that to us, is the exciting part.

We are a business who embraces innovation, from the technology we use to enable us, to our organisational design, which challenges the traditional hierarchical models.

The position of Leader, People & Culture is an integral part of the self-managing leadership team. We are self-managing as we do not have a GM, or CEO at the helm. Rather, we are a group of three leaders, with specialist expertise in different areas of the business, who come together and work collaboratively to lead, manage and steer the business towards achieving its purpose and strategic goals.

As a collective leadership team, we report to the Board and are responsible for the following;

  • Ensuring we develop as a ‘profit for purpose’ business
  • Safeguarding our sustainability through financial security
  • Ensuring our people are aligned to and delivering on our strategy
  • Working as a conscious leadership team to ensure a conscious culture

As a specialist in their field, the Leader, People & Culture is responsible for;

  • The ongoing development of our culture and our people
  • Internal end to end human resource management responsibilities for a business with 70+ staff
  • External responsibility for connecting with people in our community and industry, to build our profile and identify strategic growth opportunities

Please note, we are open to experienced leaders from outside of the disability services industry who can demonstrate the essential criteria and, whilst we would love to have someone join us this side of Christmas, we also expect that it will be an early 2019 start.
